HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIAM ABERNATHY was originally commissioned and first presented by Ma-Yi Theatre Company (Ralph B. Peña, Artistic Director, Jorge Z. Ortoll, Executive Director) as part of PAVILIONS in the Performing Ethnicity Festival at the Ohio Theater in New York, NY in October 2004. It was directed by Christine Simpson Sachs, and featured Kevin Bartlett as William Abernathy and Tim Kang as Albert.
